Ice cream is the most beloved dessert of summer... Just like in our country, people all around the world find refreshment in ice cream when summer comes. Here are some we've listed for you:

1. India - Kulfi

Kulfi is a dense, milk-based ice cream flavored with spices like pistachios, mango, cardamom, and saffron. Kulfi is also popular in Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan.

2. Germany - Spaghettieis

Spaghettieis is a type of ice cream made in spaghetti form with strawberry sauce. The sauce is made from strawberries to resemble tomato sauce. This ice cream was invented in 1969 by Dario Fontanella. Today, an estimated 23 to 25 million bowls of spaghetti ice cream are sold each year!

3. Indonesia - Es Doger

This Indonesian ice cream is made from coconut milk. Es doger is sweetened with various fruits like durian and mango, along with honey and condensed milk!

4. Israel - Halva Ice Cream

Halva ice cream is made with tahini, honey, and hazelnuts. The first known written recipe dates back to the 13th century, though some believe versions existed as far back as 3000 BCE in the Middle East and North Africa.

5. Italy - Gelato

Gelato, meaning ice cream in Italian, is made from milk, cream, and fruits. It's said to have been invented by Bernardo Buontalenti in the late 1500s for the famous Florentine Medici banking family.

6. Japan - Kakigōri

Kakigōri is a type of Japanese shaved ice sweetened with syrups and typically topped with sweetened condensed milk. Its history dates back to the 11th century. While Kakigori is popular in Japan, mochi ice cream is the most famous Japanese-style ice cream in the USA.

7. Malaysia - Ais Kacang

Ais kacang means 'ice with beans'. It's made with shaved ice, red beans, jelly, and syrup. Condensed milk, ice cream, nuts, or fruits like mango can be added on top.

8. Mexico - Paletas

Paletas are water-based frozen popsicle desserts. They're made by freezing fruit juices or fruit pieces.

9. New Zealand - Hokey Pokey

Hokey pokey is an ice cream variety consisting of plain vanilla ice cream with New Zealand's famous small, solid honeycomb candies. It has been consumed since the 1950s.

10. South Korea - J-cone

Jipangyi or J-cones are candy cane-shaped puffed corn shells filled with ice cream. This is one of the most unique ice creams compared to others.

11. Thailand - I Tim Pad

I tim pad is made by pouring a sweet cream-based mixture onto an extremely cold metal surface. The liquid freezes quickly and is then scraped into rolls with a metal tool similar to a paint scraper. It became a worldwide trend in the 2010s.

12. Philippines - Sorbetes

Sorbetes is made with many flavors including buffalo milk, ice, eggs, and even cheddar cheese. Just like ice cream, it's eaten in a cone or squeezed between two slices of bread. It's especially purchased from street vendors.
